wrnty (“the app”) is a warranty and receipt tracker for iPhone and iPad, developed by 12F ApS (“we”, “us”), a company registered in Denmark. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. We designed wrnty so that your information stays with you.
1. What we collect
We do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email address or the contents of your warranties.
- Warranty data you enter — product names, brands, merchants, prices, purchase and expiry dates, serial numbers, notes, and any photos or documents (receipts, proof of purchase) you attach. This is stored on your device.
- iCloud data — if you enable iCloud sync, the above data is stored in your own private iCloud account so it can sync between your devices. It is handled by Apple under Apple’s terms and is not accessible to us.
- Optional, anonymous usage analytics — if left enabled, the app may record anonymous events (for example, that a screen was opened or the app was launched) to help us understand which features are used and to fix problems. These contain no personal data and are not linked to your identity. You can turn analytics off at any time in the app’s Settings.
2. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not show ads or use advertising trackers.
- We do not build advertising profiles or track you across other apps and websites.
- We have no access to your warranties, receipts or documents.
3. Where your data is stored
Your warranty data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device database. If you enable iCloud sync, a copy is kept in your private iCloud account and protected by Apple’s encryption. We never receive a copy of this data.
4. Notifications
If you enable expiry reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device to alert you before a warranty ends. These are generated on-device and are not sent through our servers.
5. Analytics provider
Where anonymous analytics are enabled, we use a privacy-respecting analytics service to process anonymous, aggregated event data on our behalf. No personal information is included. If you prefer to send nothing at all, disable analytics in the app’s Settings.
6. Children
wrnty is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.
7. Your rights
Because your data stays on your device (and in your own iCloud), you are in control of it at all times: you can view, edit and delete any item in the app, and deleting the app removes its local data from that device. If you use iCloud sync, manage or delete that data through your Apple ID settings.
If you are in the EU/EEA, the GDPR gives you rights over any personal data a company holds about you. As described above, we hold essentially none — but if you have a question or request, contact us and we will help.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
